Job Details
- Provides visual inspection and quality control by monitoring construction progress. Ensures compliance with intended results, codes, regulations, and requested standards.
- Reviews materials and methods, questions, conflicts, and changes. Manage client issues in relation to construction decisions and preferences. Research technical options and proposes solutions
- Records any relevant or outstanding issues in project and/or technical specialty databases/ reports.
- Provide maintenance support and/or technical advice to other departments.
At intermediate level, determines the responsibilities and specifications for project(s) by identifying project phases and elements, studying client requirements, assigning personnel, reviewing contractor bids, and preparing cost estimates
MINIMUM TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Structural Engineering or Construction or Project Management. Equivalent years of combined education and experience may be considered.
- 5 years experience in construction, design, and/or construction or project management.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of best practices in project design and construction process.
- Ability to evaluate proposals, design and construction modifications and change orders.
- Ability to address multiple tasks, technical issues, and contingencies simultaneously.
- Skill in acting as a liaison with external agencies, campuses, or other high level contacts.
- Ability to continuously seek quality service and process improvements in order to support a mission and strategic vision.
- Ability to communicate and interact with, as well as support effective partnerships with peers.
- Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects, to facilitate timely completion of projects and to conduct research and gather information.
- Consultation and change management skills.
- Oral/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examination to determine ability to perform the job. Valid Maryland Non-Commercial Class C or equivalent driver’s license may be required
