Job Summary

This is a professional (working) level position responsible for the analysis of complex business problems of varying complexity and assessing how information systems can be utilized to address them. The position assists in the collection and analysis of data and helps provide quality analytics to researchers and decision makers within the higher education system in support of business/data solutions.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide Specialized LMS Support: Manage and support D2L Brightspace environments and related tools, ensuring functionality aligns with academic services and institutional needs.

  2. Technical Administration: Perform technical tasks across multiple Brightspace environments, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, to ensure a stable and efficient service environment.

  3. Collaborate on Service Implementations: Work closely with team members to design, develop, and implement processes and solutions for new and updated services, adhering to IT best practices and operational standards.

  4. Third-party Integrations: Oversee the integration of third-party applications with the LMS, ensuring seamless data flow and compatibility with institutional systems, as appropriate.

  5. Enhance User Experience: Identify opportunities to improve LMS functionality and processes, proactively addressing system limitations and implementing scalable solutions that enhance the user experience.

  6. Testing and Quality Assurance: Collaborate with team on testing strategies, including functional testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of new features, updates, and integrations, as appropriate.

  7. Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison with the USG, D2L, and campuses, ensuring effective communication and resolution of technical issues and service changes.

  8. Monitor and Report: Track system performance, generate usage analytics, and prepare reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

  9. Provide Training and Documentation: Deliver training, create user guides, and maintain up-to-date documentation to support end users, including faculty, staff, and administrators.

  10. Adapt to Evolving Needs: Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying flexibility to meet the dynamic and time-sensitive demands of the academic service environment.

  11. Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree preferred.

Required Experience
Over three years of related LMS administration experience required.

Other Required Qualifications
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is not a supervisory position. The supervisor assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.
The work consists of varied business systems analysis duties. Frequent changes to industry standards contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to manage and support specialized IT business systems. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of a variety of USG and institutional operations.
Contacts are typically with other system office employees, college and university staff, vendors, contractors, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to provide services.
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.
The work is typically performed in a virtual office.
This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
