Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and master’s level courses across the curriculum like abnormal psychology, general psychology, graduate psychopathology, applied behavior analysis, and courses in the faculty member’s area of specialization; serve as a clinical practicum instructor, supervising adult and child therapy and assessment cases in a community-serving, sliding-fee-scale clinic based in the department [ clinical/counseling specialization only]; establish an active research program; direct undergraduate research and graduate theses; engage in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.

Minimum Education Requirements:

A doctoral degree in either Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology and licensure as a psychologist in Kentucky (or eligibility for licensure within one year) [clinical/counseling specialization] or a doctoral degree in applied behavior analysis or related field and certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (or eligibility for certification within one year) [applied behavior analysis specialization]. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in teaching, the ability to establish an active research program, and the interest and ability to involve undergraduate and master’s level graduate students in their research as well as to direct undergraduate research projects and graduate student theses.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with a degree from an APA or PCSAS accredited program and to those with a cognitive-behavioral orientation [clinical/counseling specialization]. Preference will be given to those with a doctoral-level certification in behavior analysis (e.g., Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral; BCBA-D) and to those with graduate coursework or professional experiences that compliment other areas of the department’s curriculum (e.g., group experimental design and statistics) [applied behavior analysis specialization].
