Position:
The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Psychology Department beginning August 2025. We seek candidates who have a school psychology training background and will support the NASP accredited Master’s/CAS School Psychology training program primarily through coordination and supervision of graduate student field placement experiences, as well as through teaching and service to the school psychology program and the broader Psychology Department.

We seek applicants who have a school psychology training background, demonstrated effectiveness as an instructor, experience with developing and leading education and training activities, knowledge of NASP accreditation standards, commitment to developing social equity within and outside the program, and the ability to work collaboratively with program and graduate school faculty.

Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a graduate degree in school psychology (or closely related field) and be eligible to obtain their National Certification in School Psychology (NCSP) by their start date.          Both master’s and doctoral level candidates will be considered for this position. Experience in clinical supervision with graduate-level trainees is highly desired for this position.  

Responsibilities:
Applicants will be responsible for coordinating student field placements as well as teaching classes in the master’s/CAS program in school psychology.  Candidates will teach courses primarily assigned to school psychology, including two sections of practicum in the fall and spring, with the possibility of also teaching undergraduate psychology courses (e.g., Intro to School Psychology, Exceptional Child). The clinical coordinator position duties continue through the summer with additional compensation and one course release. The clinical coordinator works with school sites that host school psychology students to facilitate the upcoming internship and practicum experiences. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with diverse populations to create an inclusive learning environment that is attuned to the educational needs of all students. Evidence of effective teaching experience and/or clinical supervision at the graduate level is highly desired for this position. Teaching, scholarship, and service expectations for clinical faculty should incorporate activities that use and build on their clinical/professional excellence.

The successful applicant will contribute to student advising and service to Department and University committees. The Psychology Department (https://www.towson.edu/psychology) has over 1,400 undergraduate psychology majors and 300 graduate students in five master’s degree programs, including school psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, experimental psychology, and human resource development. Salary and Benefits:
Targeted salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience.
