Duties:Under the supervision of the Director of the Job Resource Center, the Job Resource Specialist prepares and connects students, alumni, and community job seekers for the world of work, as well as assist employers in the recruitment and retention of their next great hire. The Job Resource Specialist is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities/events that promote student success, lifelong learning, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Duties include:
• The Job Resource Specialist provides in-person and virtual appointments, presentations/workshops and events to students, alumni, community members and employers regarding job search strategies and recruiting.• Teaches job seekers how to tailor resumes and cover letters to match requirements and qualifications of job postings.• Proofreads, corrects, edits cover letters, resumes and other job search materials.• Collaborates and builds partnerships with stakeholders; as well as providing concierge-style services to employers.• Responsible for planning, marketing, promotion and assessment of events and programs.• Tracks and documents recruitment, retention, completion, and GPA of students served.• Implements career related professional development, informational and recruiting events that connect employers with students, alumni, community job seekers.• Prepares reports, evaluations, surveys and provide data analysis to demonstrate optimal effectiveness, strategic impact, and departmental success.• Works with, supervises, and mentors JRC student employees/interns and performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree Preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in advising, coaching, or counseling in the areas such as job search, career development/services, workforce or vocational development, employment, or human resources (required). • Demonstrated abilities to teach job seekers how to tailor resumes and cover letters to match requirements and qualifications of job postings.• Understanding of career development, employability skills and ability to educate stakeholders.• Experience working with diverse populations and underrepresented groups.• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple demands and priorities.• Service-oriented with critical thinking skills, good judgement, and interpersonal abilities.• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present information via in-person or virtual platforms.• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to utilize CRM platforms.• Ability to utilize virtual communication tools and social media platforms for professional purposes.• Employer relations and/or recruiting experience, preferred.
Position Status:Full Time
Hours:Monday – Friday
8:00 am to 5:15 pm
(Some evenings or weekends required. Occasional travel may be required)
$47,470-$63,525
