Educational and Experience Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in forensic science or related field. Masters preferred. Two years of relevant experience in a related field. Experience with training related activities, event coordination, meeting planning and project management preferred. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Must be a current Sam Houston State University employee in order to be considered for this position.
Performs moderately complex administrative and technical work for the Institute for Forensic Research, Training and Innovation (IFRTI).
Primary Responsibilities:Oversees the delivery of forensic science training within the Institute for Forensic Research, Training and Innovation (IFRTI). Plans on-campus and off-campus training events. Coordinates the preparation of and delivery of online, webinar, in-person, and video production training events and deliverables. This includes, but is not limited to: timeline projections, Blackboard/Genius registrations, management and delivery of training, on-site logistics, and contracting. Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities. Reviews and approves training material prepared by subject matter experts. Prepares program budget requests and reports. Manages purchasing, contract preparation/routing, P-card reconciliation, travel requests and reconciliation; grants management, budget updates, and change of budget requests. Confers with staff on program issues and problems and implements solutions. Coordinates with SHSU Online, outside agencies, and subject matter experts for on-time program delivery. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates program effectiveness. Develops and recommends program guidelines. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations and ensures they are followed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Coordination of off-campus training events may involve travel after hours or during weekends. Requires thorough knowledge of SHSU policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
