Are you an Instructional Designer who is looking to join a vibrant and collaborative team? We invite you to submit materials for this full-time, onsite position at UMaine’s Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL). CITL’s Instructional Designers work directly with faculty across the curriculum to design, develop, evaluate, and revise instructional content, courses and curriculum. You will be an important part of our in-house production studio, designing and managing projects that include instructional videos, websites, virtual field trips, data visualizations and interactive maps for in person and online courses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
● Partner with individual faculty, academic departments and schools to conceptualize, design,
develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of digital course materials.
● Develop, implement and manage digital projects for UMaine faculty.
● Apply a deep knowledge of pedagogical strategies to the creative use of technology to
improve teaching and learning.
● Assess tools to address faculty members' instructional goals.
● Direct the planning, scheduling, technical implementation, and management of
accessible course and content development projects;
● Assist in the selection and acquisition of hardware and software to meet project goals;
● Develop training materials and technical documentation;
● Collaborate with other UMaine staff and faculty members;
● Prepare regular status reports as appropriate;
● Manage project budgets;
● Keep abreast of emerging technologies and national trends;
● Develop and maintain professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility, and mutual
respect;
● Build productive relationships with internal and external constituencies;
● Utilize coaching and mentoring methods which provide an environment that is anticipatory,
supportive, and encourages constructive feedback on performance;
● Commit to organizational improvement by identifying opportunities to improve,
recommending possible alternatives for a situation; and
● Perform related duties as assigned.
