Job Summary

The Admissions Recruiter and Outreach Specialist, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions, is responsible for promoting Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) and engaging with various stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, and high school counselors. The Recruiter communicates admissions requirements, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid options while managing a specific recruitment territory through a strategic annual plan. This role requires significant travel, including overnight stays and weekend work. Confidentiality must be maintained in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA.

Campus Security Authority (CSA) Responsibilities
This position is classified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. As a CSA, the employee will have specific responsibilities to report any Clery Act qualifying crimes that they are made aware of to the institution's designated office. CSA duties include promptly reporting incidents and cooperating with Clery Act compliance efforts, including attending required training.

Responsibilities
  • Design and collaborate with AMSC's Marketing office to produce recruitment materials, including digital and print media.
  • Provide guidance and counseling throughout the enrollment process, including support for financial aid applications and New Student Orientation.
  • Plan, organize, and lead recruitment events, including campus tours and information sessions.
  • Manage prospective student communications and track application progress.
  • Collect necessary documents for application completion and admissions processing.
  • Utilize performance data to create recruitment strategies based on designated territories.
  • Represent the college at recruitment events, requiring extensive travel.
  • Administer and proctor offsite assessments when necessary.
  • Analyze recruitment data to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with school personnel to maintain a consistent recruitment pipeline.
  • Participate in student engagement activities such as New Student Orientation and Open Houses.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of AMSC's mission, strategic plan, and core values.
  • Provide support to the admissions team as needed.
  • Provides seasonal supervision of student workers and ambassadors.
Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor degree

Experience: Least one year of experience in a higher education, business, or student engagement environment.

(OR) - an Associate degree with three years of relevant experience.

Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a higher education setting. Proficiency in the BANNER system and other relevant software.

Proposed Salary

$45,000 - $48,880/annual

  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in multiple software systems, including BANNER and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and excellent public speaking abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess recruitment data and trends
