Job Summary:

The Director of Digital Media Services is responsible for serving as the university’s brand champion, focusing on managing its digital presence and ensuring consistency in brand representation. This role emphasizes high-quality photo and video production, guiding the university's digital content strategies to create a cohesive unit that supports the institution's marketing plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for digital media initiatives that align with institutional goals.
  • Lead and manage a team to produce high-quality photo and video content that supports marketing and branding efforts.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms and media outputs.
  • Oversee and manage complex production workflows, including pre-production planning, on-set operations, and post-production editing.
  • Assess and adapt to new digital trends and technologies to enhance the institution’s digital presence.
  • Foster collaboration between departments to ensure cohesive messaging and effective storytelling.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while staying within budget constraints.
  • Provide creative direction for campaigns, ensuring alignment with the institution’s mission and values.
  • Analyze performance metrics to measure the success of digital media campaigns and make data-driven improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in marketing, business, communication, journalism or closely related field
    • At least four (4) years of experience in professional production environment, content creation, social media content, and/or marketing industry

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Supervisory experience preferred
    • JSU brand knowledge
