Job Summary/Basic Function
Assignments could be in the dish room, kitchen, vegetable preparation area, serving areas, dining rooms, deli/convenience stores, catering and receiving.

Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Learn procedures and practices for food handling, sanitation, cleanliness
- Use food service equipment and utensils
- Use computer cash register
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Basic math skills for recipe and quantity control.
- Working effectively with other employees.
- Working effectively with customers
- Demonstrated good attendance record; is aware of the impact that missing work will have on the customer as well as co-workers.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Must follow basic dress code and hygiene standards set by University Dining.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- May be required to work in cold storage areas.
- May be required to have a valid driver's license to drive university van, box truck or motorized skid. (Food Service Worker positions within Catering require a valid driver's license.)
- Successful interview.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months food service experience.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Ability to:
- Lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
- Move over 40 lbs. using standard food service industry carts.
- May be required to work in cold storage areas for extended periods of time.
- May be required have a valid driver's license to drive university van, box truck or motorized skid. (Food Service Worker positions within Catering require a valid driver's license.)
- Ability to stand for long lengths of time.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Understanding of written directions.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
