The Dr. Terrie Shaw Fellowship is named to honor the memory of Dr. Terrie Shaw, who served at Indiana Tech as a faculty member for more than a decade. Dr. Shaw was known for her commitment to students and colleagues, and was founder of the Black Excellence Association at Indiana Tech.
The Dr. Terrie Shaw Fellowship provides support to a doctoral student during their dissertation phase to complete their studies while beginning their teaching career with the support of experienced faculty.
The Dr. Terrie Shaw Fellow will receive:
- A full-time one-year Faculty Fellow appointment with benefits
- A reduced teaching load in the first year of appointment while completing doctoral studies requirements
- The potential for a tenure-track faculty appointment in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or Psychology after serving as a Faculty Fellow
- Ongoing teaching support and mentoring
- An opportunity to work closely with students
- Professional development funds
- A taxable moving reimbursement, up to $4,000
The Dr. Terrie Shaw Fellow will work closely with the College Dean to identify targeted service opportunities and will support under-represented students.
Preferred candidates will be current ABD students in the fields of Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or Psychology with a strong interest in working at a teaching institution.
