Position Summary:
The Banner Systems Analyst assists with the support and maintenance of the Ellucian Banner system for the Student and Faculty modules. The Banner Systems Analyst will also assist with supporting functional offices within Data and Technology Unit for reporting needs from the Banner database and help the DegreeWorks team with Scribing. This individual works under the direction of the Director of Data and Technology Unit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with the building and maintenance of reports in Argos and running ad hoc reports from the RPTS database as needed and maintain Tableau systems
- Participates in planning, implementation, and maintenance of current and new applications and interfaces. This includes but is not limited to regular system updates for software patches or additions/changes that need to be made to Banner or Self-Service Banner
- Create and maintain academic degree audits for all academic programs and certificates using the DegreeWorks system
- Implement and configure scribing rules and templates for degree audits, ensuring alignment with current academic requirements
- Coordinates with other banner support teams and business owners to review current and future needs for the Student and Faculty systems
- Provides training on Banner and DegreeWorks platforms to functional administrative offices, faculty, staff, and students
- Acts as liaison for banner, web content, and other related technology issues between Enrollment Management, ITS, and other related constituents
- Assists in the development of plans for evaluation, implementation, and testing
- Manages assigned project/task lists and formulates timelines for completion
- Manages integration of data between Banner and other internal/external systems
- Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with business owners and system analysts
- Provides bi-monthly status report to the Director
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of SQL – ability to query database
Business knowledge of Banner/DegreeWorks systems and/or Higher Education Administration Knowledge of Adobe Professional and CMS for web content management and ability to use these applications
Ability to stay organized, multi-task, and effectively communicate both verbally and written
Ability to identify system or security problems and develop solutions and options
Project Management or Team Leadership experience
Strong customer service orientation
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

This individual has a close working relationship with the Registrar, Financial Aid & Scholarships, International Programs, A-State Online, and Academic Affairs business owners, the functional users, ITS, and other university support constituents.
This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree.
Ellucian Banner knowledge and ability to write in SQL preferable
Ability to stay organized, multi-task, and effectively communicate both verbally and written.
Strong customer service orientation.
Other job-related Education and/or Experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval or the qualifications review committee.
