We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Summary:

Provide vision, leadership, and coherence for the college district functions dedicated to conflict resolution for faculty, staff, and administrators. Provide clear mapping of appropriate conflict resolution responses and processes. Oversee the employee discipline process. Oversee the informal and formal employee complaint processes and activities that fall within the purview of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) and any other relevant regulations.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a working and learning culture that promotes preventive approaches, prompt resolution of concerns, and fair treatment.
  • Manage all phases of the complaint, investigation, discipline, appeal, and related procedures to ensure fair and consistent application of policy for complaint resolution.
  • Oversee the complaint process; provide assistance in the facilitation and resolution of complaints and handle oversight of the appeal process; respond to policy and procedure questions relating to human resources management and employee conduct and discipline.
  • Mitigate disputes using appropriate conflict management skills and techniques.
  • Establish proactive, preventive, approaches that are data-driven and focused on continuous improvement of practice and processes. Design processes and interventions that actively cultivate a culture of respect, promote performance excellence, optimize talent, and instills an environment of fairness and equity for employees. Maintain safe and robust communication channels for faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations, keeping abreast of recent changes that may affect the institution's policies, procedures, and processes. Monitor compliance with relevant policies, procedures, state, federal and local laws, and regulations. Provide leadership to ensure faculty, staff and administrators operate in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Ensure appropriate training is provided to all necessary employees to foster successful and compliant conflict management, including EEO, ADA, Title IX, FERPA, Preventing Harassment in the Workplace, and related conflict resolution training.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned HR staff to effectively direct employee relations activities.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.

Required
Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution and five (5) years of directly related experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Equivalency Language
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution with seven (7) years of directly related experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Preferred
Higher Education experience.

Licenses and Certifications
Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHE) certification preferred.

$123,134.40

Compensation is determined based on experience.
