The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Patient Revenue Cycle Lead Coordinator for the Clinic Administration Predoctoral Clinic. The Predoctoral Clinics are an important part of the health care delivery system ensuring optimal health care experience for our dental patients and students.


The Predoctoral Clinic Patient Revenue Cycle Lead Coordinator functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the College of Dentistry. Overall responsibilities include serving as one of the receptionists in the eight predoctoral clinics performing patient scheduling, taking incoming patient calls, patient check-in, tracking dental and hygiene students’ schedules, assisting with backup coverage as needed, verifying forms for accuracy and completeness, verifying insurance and coverages, collecting payments, and coordinating with and disseminating information to the patient care team. In addition to the standard operational tasks, the Patient Revenue Cycle Lead Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Assistant Pre-Doctoral Clinic Manager with managing the clinic faculty count, clinic chair utilization, the Recall process including a Recall report, Intiveo (automated appointment reminder system) reports, the axiUm scheduling templates, directs patient concerns to Clinic Administration when manager is unavailable. This position assists in training new clinic staff and assists current staff with updated information related to the position. This position also assists with providing coverage for student licensing exams, board screenings and participates in a team rotation to cover bi-weekly predoctoral evening clinic each semester when necessary.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm. This position may include weekends and evening work.

Required Screening: This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to push / pull carts containing office supplies, bend / stretch / twist to pick up supplies, maintain office appearance, stand and walk for periods of time serving and assisting customers.

Target Hiring Pay Range: $19.09 - $25.10, based on education and experience.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required: 4 years scheduling patient appointments in a medical or dental setting or 4 year’s medical/dental billing experience (or a combination of both); working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) software; very detailed oriented; developed organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office in a business environment; ability to complete appropriate correspondence to maintain patient communication; self-motivated individual capable of making informed decisions independently; open to develop and create on-going process improvements; working as a team member and has high level of emotional intelligence; able to develop positive working relationships with a diverse population; creates and analyzes patient data with a high level of accuracy.

Desired: 6 years’ scheduling patient appointments in a medical or dental setting or 4 year’s medical/dental billing experience (or a combination of both).
