ALERRT is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to serve as the Director of External Relations. This key leadership position works closely with the Executive Director to manage ALERRT’s public-facing initiatives and foster meaningful connections with a wide range of organizations. The Director of External Relations plays a pivotal role in representing ALERRT’s mission and vision, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and exploring new opportunities for growth. The position also serves as ALERRT’s Public Information Officer, ensuring consistent and effective communication with the media and public.
Job Duties:Stakeholder Engagement:
- Represent ALERRT by attending and presenting at meetings hosted by local, state, tribal, federal, and international partners.
- Actively participate in professional and trade association meetings to strengthen ALERRT’s presence and partnerships.
Public Information and Media Relations:
- Serve as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for ALERRT, acting as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Develop and execute media strategies to promote ALERRT’s initiatives, events, and achievements.
Strategic Growth:
- Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand ALERRT’s portfolio and enhance its impact within the public safety and training communities.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to strategize and implement initiatives that align with ALERRT’s goals.
Social Media Oversight:
- Supervise and provide guidance to ALERRT’s social media team to ensure a cohesive and impactful online presence.
- Coordinate and approve content that aligns with ALERRT’s mission and engages various audiences effectively.
Public Representation:
- Act as a spokesperson for ALERRT at conferences, events, and public engagements to build awareness and advocate for ALERRT’s programs and objectives.
