Position Summary
This is a recruitment for a Part time position (.5 FTE; approximately 1040 hours per years)
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 2 pm to 7 pm
Coordinates activities in various computer labs to ensure that students have access to and assistance in the use of computer technology. Assumes full responsibility for the operation, safety and security of the computer labs during morning, evening and weekend hours. Hires, trains and supervises student help, work-study and casual employees that support the computer labs. Performs basic troubleshooting and repairs and maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment.

- Experience supporting students, faculty, staff and the general public from a client service \ customer service perspective.
- Demonstrated skill in time management, communication, and prioritization.
- Experience in working through difficult situations and collaborating with others to resolve issues.
- Communication skills related to keeping management updated on issues related to our client service and equipment status in our labs.
- Experience supporting classrooms and computer labs.
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of post-secondary education in a computer related discipline, relevant experience may substitute for the post-secondary education on a year-for year basis.
- Two years of experience supporting computer laboratory activities or administrative support experience that encompasses the training and directing of staff and coordination of facility coverage in a customer service environment.
- Experience in creating, updating and maintaining Google Sites, Wordpress, and other web-design services/tools
- Knowledge and experience working with desktop and laptop computers (Windows and Mac) including troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge and experience working with computer software applications and tools (ex. MS Office, Adobe, Browsers, Google Suite & GoPrint)
- Experience in documenting tasks and processes
- Able to communicate with empathy in difficult situations.
- Able to create content and train others on department process and procedures

Work is typically performed in an office/laboratory environment and exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Changes in the performance environment require occasional upgrading of skills. May be required to interact with angry or disruptive students.
Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding and ten-key functions. Some physical skill required to lift and work on equipment that may be located in tight and poorly lighted spaces, such as under desks and workstations or other confined areas. Lifting and moving of computer components and peripherals weighing between 40 and 90 pounds.
