Job Description:

Budget Title: Financial Aid Advisor (SL-3)

Salary: $55,151

This position assists in offering guidance and assistance to students and parents in all matters pertaining to the financing of a Binghamton University, which entails:

• Processing of applications, verification and appeals in an accurate and timely manner.
• Responding to student/family inquiries that are initiated during on-call hours, via email or phone calls.
• Offering guidance in support of servicing that is student-centered, and whenever possible delivery of information at the first point of contact.

The position requires knowledge, understanding, and interpretation of federal aid regulations in the administration of student federal aid. Therefore, continued learning and attendance at federal student aid conferences, webinars and regional organization meetings is expected.

This position provides financial aid related presentations both on- and off-campus, as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum one year experience in financial aid
• Strong customer service background
• Strong written, oral, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with technology and Microsoft Office tools
• The ability to work as a team member as well as independently
• The ability to travel yearly

Preferred:

• Experience using BANNER
