Position Summary:The facilities manager is an administrative and managerial position directing the Rock Eagle 4-H Center maintenance department. The individual in this position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Housekeeping and Maintenance. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of employees in the areas of maintenance, automotive repair, construction, landscape, preventative maintenance, and security. The facilities manager works with the Director of Housekeeping and Maintenance to oversee all environmental compliance at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. These responsibilities include but are not limited to drinking water, waste water, underground storage tanks, pesticides, chemicals, and pools. This person in this position is responsible for the scheduling and oversight of employees who are responsible for maintaining and operating a municipal water system, maintaining and operating a sewage disposal system with a discharge permit, pool operations, HVAC systems and audio visual systems. The facilities manager oversees the day to day operations of the Rock Eagle 4-H maintenance department. These responsibilities include but are not limited to payroll, staffing, scheduling, assigning tasks, training, safety, weekly department meetings, ordering supplies, inventory, managing work orders, preventative maintenance, and securing entry and exit points throughout the center. There are often unexpected needs or emergencies on the center that require sudden schedule changes and reprioritization of tasks such as busted water lines or down trees. The facilities manager will be involved in construction and renovation of buildings, roads, parking areas and sidewalks. The facilities manager is responsible for the management of the forest lands and lake at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, the Rock Hawk Effigy and observation tower near Wallace Dam and assists with the management of 4-H property in Newton County The facilities manager must be a person committed to excellence and willing to assist in all areas of guests services as needed. Frequent weekend, evening work, and on call hours needed.
This position involves use of a P-Card.
Willingness to obtain the following certifications:
- Certified Pool Operator
- First Aid/CPR AED
- Pesticide Applicator License
- Class IV Drinking Water Operator
- Class IV Waste Water Operator
- Underground Storage Tank Operator
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator Category 24 (Landscape & Ornamental)
- Additional certification may be required.
Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, structural, mechanical, carpentry, masonry, and landscaping.

Medium lifting in an indoor and outdoor environment. Driving as needed to perform job related duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:Oversee administrative duties of the maintenance department including: payroll, evaluation, and hiring, training, weekly meetings and staff schedules. Establishes goals, expectations, and accountability for the maintenance department.

Duties/Responsibilities:Manages ordering and inventory of supplies. Ensures that supplies and materials are available for routine maintenance projects, makes purchases, and keeps a detailed report of cost. Processes and assigns daily work orders.

Duties/Responsibilities:Ensures all environmental compliance needs are met including but not limited to management of a drinking and waste water systems, underground storage tanks, management of chemicals. Directs the operations of two swimming pools and ensures that Certified Pool Operators are trained and available to manage the operations of pools.

Duties/Responsibilities:Coordinates the scheduling of preventative maintenance and landscaping of the Rock Eagle 4-H Center facilities and equipment. Responsible for the maintenance of the grounds, trails, and road right of ways. Directs the maintenance and record keeping of vehicles and equipment. Assist with other immediate and emergency needs that arise.

Duties/Responsibilities:Manage overall supervision of staff within the maintenance department including carpenter, electrician, mechanic, machinery operators, AV technician, landscapers, general laborers, and security staff. Inspect and account for daily task and assignments of staff. Advise and assist staff with projects, building setups/ breakdowns, and center wide needs.
