- Under the supervision of Contracting Officer, draft, review and negotiate material transfer, non-disclosure and other intellectual property agreements.
- Identify, interpret and explain various contractual issues and relevant consequences of those issues.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Coordinate with other Office of Research units, as needed, for review of terms under the purview of those units.

Position Summary:This position in Innovation Gateway is responsible for assisting with the review, negotiation, and drafting of material transfer, non-disclosure and other intellectual property (IP) agreements as assigned by and under the direction of the Innovation Gateway Contracting Manager, ensuring that all terms and conditions follow UGA IP policy, applicable laws and regulations. Preferred candidates will bring basic contracts knowledge, excellent organizational and analytical skills, a proven capacity for problem solving, an exceptional customer-service approach, and thrive in a collaborative environment. Position involves a highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys working as part of a team.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:At least one year completed and in good academic standing at an ABA-accredited law school.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :-Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage a fast-paced workflow, efficiently prioritize tasks, and work independently under deadlines.
-Ability to draft and interpret IP, legal and business language in various contracts.
-Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of people, including faculty, industry representatives and legal counsel as well as administrative staff.
-Understanding of basic intellectual property and contracting issues.
