Position Purpose:To set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments in support of research studies directed at development and testing of novel artificial intelligence (AI)-designed herpes simplex virus vaccines by applying established methods, procedures, and techniques. Position involves virology, cell culture, molecular biology, mouse work and data analysis. Working as team as part of a fast-paced 3 year project to bring a new vaccine to phase 1 clinical trials. Great opportunity to work independently and learn about many cutting-edge techniques.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Competence in several laboratory methods, procedures and techniques as well as the equipment and instruments. Ability to work independently with good judgment and good organizational and time management skills. Willingness to work with/be exposed to hazardous materials such as infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of computers and software applications.

Description:Conducts laboratory experiments/tests, utilizing a range of established methods, procedures, and techniques with necessary preparations, observes experiment, records observations and maintains laboratory notebook.

Description:Prepares appropriate and understandable representations of data such as graphs, charts, tables, statistical summaries, etc. Analyzes data resulting from experimentation/testing. Summarizes results and prepares progress reports for oral presentation.

Description:Instructs others in laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques and provides technical guidance and direction as required. Maintains computerized records associated with laboratory activities.

Description:Laboratory maintenance including order lab supplies ((backup is to be emailed to the M&I office asap upon placing orders)); monitors laboratory equipment and instrument performance; obtains maintenance and repair as necessary.

Description:Assists in animal (mouse) research; including maintenance of mouse colonies, injections, breeding, in vivo assays and entering data into computerized databases.
