Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

The primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Collects, compiles, and analyzes research data. Assists with the use of statistical methods and relational databases to analyze data sets. Prepares or assists with preparing reports of research findings. Supervisory responsibilities may carry out supervisory responsibilities while working with Graduate Research Assistants in accordance with the organization’s objectives, policies and applicable laws.

This is a Grant Funded position.

Essential Duties Summary:

  • Assists with planning, developing, coordinating, and administering research projects. Assists with formulating research objectives, programs, and priorities.
  • Assists with authoring or editing technical reports and summary findings.
  • May assist in designing and creating computer programs for research applications.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Hiring Range:

$64,197.37 - $81,851.64

Education:

Master’s degree in Transportation Management, Urban Planning, or Transportation Engineering from a regionally accredited university.

Required Licensing/Certification:

N/A

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Transportation Planning and Policy
  • Urban Planning principles
  • Maritime Transportation
  • Possess knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
  • Complies with all State and University policies.

Skill in:
  • Detail oriented.
  • Effective customer service.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Multitasking and time management.
  • Both verbal and written communication.


Ability to:
  • Work with a diverse student population.
  • Maintain involvement in appropriate professional organizations.

Work Experience:

Skilled writer, research, and project management preferred.

Working/Environmental Conditions:

  • Prolonged standing and/or walking.
  • Handling lightweight objects.
  • Using or carrying equipment.
