Job Description:

Policies and Procedures

Ensure that the center's programs and facilities meet and maintain all applicable licensing and accreditation requirements (DCF, ELC, NAEYC) as well as all university standards and requirements

Maintain all child and staff files, ensuring confidentiality of all files

Maintenance of documentation of trainings including, but not limited to, 40-hour certificates, annual staff development hours, Infant and Child CPR/First Aid and VPK training

Oversee the VPK program including child registration, ELC contract renewals and maintenance, observations and evaluations

Collaborate with the Associate Director and Director to review and revise policies and procedures; communicate and consistently enforce all policies and procedures that guide the functioning and quality of the center and assure the center's goals and objectives are achieved

Communicate and train all staff in Emergency Preparedness procedures including practice drills and child health & safety protocol

Employee Management and Supervision

Oversee management of teaching and student staff: This includes hiring, orientation, training, coaching, feedback and professional development, performance appraisals, and handling personnel issues

Provide pedagogical leadership and guidance to the teaching and administrative staff through supporting UF ECC's core values and expectations

Program Quality

Develop and facilitate strong center-parent relationships: communicate effectively and regularly, effectively address concerns and complaints, coordinate center-wide events, provide oversight for customer service functions including oral conversation and written correspondence.

Represent UF ECC on university and community projects, committees, and endeavors related to early education and care; engage the center in campus events

Oversee and conduct evaluations of the program, reviewing curriculum and lesson plans; and take part in observations of children

Center Oversight

Provide oversight of the daily operations for the Diamond Village center.

Coordinate scheduling of substitute teachers and volunteers through When to Work. Conduct orientations for volunteers assigned to the Diamond Village center.

Maintain files for staff and students.

Send notices to Fiscal Manager when a child is picked up late.

Create and maintain publications and documents that are used in the classrooms (action plans, dietary restrictions, etc).

Departmental Support

Assist the UF ECC Director and administrative staff with special projects and tasks related to the overall operation of the UF ECC program.

Expected Salary:

$60,000 - $65,000; based on education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or a related field

Five years' teaching experience in an early childhood or other educational setting

Two years' experience in administrative work

Current Florida Director's credential

Experience with research projects, proposal review, and scheduling

Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel

Infant and Child CPR and First Aid Certification
