Description:

The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics (IS/BAN) at Hofstra University invites applications for a full-time Special Professor position (Assistant/Associate) in the field of information systems for the 2025-2026 academic year (9/1/2025 – 8/31/2026). Applicants will be considered at all ranks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach courses related to information systems including IS fundamentals, business applications (i.e., Java, Python, XHTML, or else), computer networking, and information security management at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Demonstrate evidence or potential of performing high-impact scholarly activities in the IS field by publishing in the peer-reviewed journals and presenting at academic conferences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by department and school, such as engagement with students.

Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate (or ABD) in MIS/IS/CIS, or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution is required.
  • Demonstrated evidence or potential to teach courses with excellent communication skills.
  • Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational environment.

Preferred Quals Summary:

  • Industry experience or certificate(s) in the field of IS are preferred.
  • Expected to work in a culturally diverse community of students and faculty.
