Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Director of Social Media in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts.


The Director of Social Media shapes and executes the Edwards College’s visual and verbal social media presence in accordance with the college strategic plan. This position is in the office and various locations, indoor and outdoor, on and off campus. As needed, work on weekends and nights as is a regular part of the job.

Digital Media Designer II (BC14/61122157/ PCLS202400472), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $38,985.00 (minimum) - $55,559.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

 

Duties

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Manages and creates engaging dynamic virtual content to support digital marketing efforts for the Edwards College.
  • Manages and shapes the Edwards College’s visual and verbal social media presence within the College’s strategic plan and social media strategy.
  • Supervises, directs, and provides the students, staff, and faculty with opportunities for expanding their departmental social media presence through new trends, strategies, and best practices in the medium.
  • Deploys and executes analytical and reporting measures that show impact and engagement with the greater community.
  • Actively participates and collaborates in the Edwards College Publicity Group.
  • Qualifications

    Required: A high school diploma and relevant experience. An associate degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience.
    Preferred: Bachelors degree in a related field plus three (3) years experience in social media and/or digital marketing.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of current website design, best practices and principles. Knowledge of social media platforms and how to use those platforms to disseminate information. Ability to effectively communicate orally and through the written word. Ability to establish good rapport and provide accurate and timely responses to the public via social media and web platforms. Ability to understand and maintain agency brands and the accurate deployment of those brands in various marketing collateral outputs. Ability to supervise and coach subordinate staff.
