The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Contact district businesses, assess needs for training and education in the specific areas of Business, local government and professional services; offer best fit solution from College of DuPage and achieve maximum net revenue for College.

  • Create professional development trainings, contract training and programs and services for both employers and employees to meet regional skill and knowledge needs and manage program portfolio with annual revenue and enrollment goals.
  • Work cooperatively with College of DuPage (COD) Planning and Institutional Effectiveness, Center for Entrepreneurship, Business and Technology and Workforce Development partners across campus.
  • Meet with in-district businesses to gather data to assess the industry-specific needs and conduct on-going assessment of need for training and education by in-district Business local government and professional services firms.
  • Meet and negotiate with in-district businesses to determine best-fit solution from COD to meet business needs.
  • Sell solution to businesses including, but not limited to on-site customized train, Continuing Education events/workshops, etc.
  • Meet with Associate Dean, Senior Manager of Business Solutions, CE Management Team, Dean, external partners/advisors and College credit departments (Deans) to develop and customize non-credit offerings to meet needs of in-district businesses.
  • Work with Program Development Manager, CE Associate Dean, CE Leadership Team, CE Program Coordinators, Center for Entrepreneurship, Academic Departments and CE Dean to create and implement marketing plan for Business Solutions.
  • Assess quality of products delivered.
  • Work cooperatively with COD Planning and Institutional Effectiveness to develop instruments and strategies to assess effectiveness and quality of products delivered to businesses.
  • Participate and assist with strategic, annual and monthly planning.
  • Represent Business Solutions and COD as an attendee or presenter at special events, networking opportunities (i.e., chamber events, career fairs, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly call and sales reports, maintain and update CRM database.
  • Research, apply for and carryout grants in conjunction with Continuing Education/Extended Learning Leadership team and COD Development and Grants Office relevant to Business Solutions programs, services, customers and business partners.
  • Maintain and update contact databases, activity tracking database on ongoing basis, set up training in COD system, schedule rooms, monitor course enrollment and evaluate programs.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, management or related field required.
      • Master's Degree in business, marketing, management or related field preferred.
    • Experience
      • 3 - 5 years full-time Business and management related services required.
      • More than 5 years' full-time Business and Financial Services and IT management preferred.


    Working Conditions:

  • Personal computer, MS Office, calculator, multi-line telephone, FAX, copy machine, etc.
  • Forty (40) hours per week with flexibility to adjust to job requirements.
  • Some weekend, evening and early morning work will be required to meet with businesses and observe on-site instruction.
  • General office environment, however, work at district businesses may be factory and plant environment.
  • This is a position that is funded by a College auxiliary fund; this position must generate positive net revenue every year.
  • Frequent local travel using own vehicle required.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.


  • Hybrid Remote Eligible: Yes

    Hiring Range:
    Level P2, grade 10/Starting pay begins at $65,000 based on experience

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
