Job Description:


A Cinema Assistant Manager supports the Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a movie theater. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding company standards. The Cinema Assistant Manager helps create a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment for both customers and employees.


Operational Management


  • Assist in coordinating daily theater operations, including box office, concessions, and auditorium maintenance.
  • Monitor the quality and efficiency of the ticketing process, concession sales, and guest seating.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, including financial reporting, securing the premises, and verifying inventory.
  • Manage cash handling, bank deposits, and reconciliation of daily sales reports.
  • Track inventory.

Technical Operations


  • Load and schedule movies, ads and previews on computers.
  • Access Cinema's email and use keys received to access the movies.
  • Troubleshoot when issues arise with showing the movies.

Staff Supervision & Development


  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members to uphold high levels of customer service and job performance.
  • Assist with scheduling shifts and coordinating staff levels based on business needs.
  • Oversee training programs for new employees and ongoing professional development for existing staff.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support disciplinary actions as needed.

Customer Service Excellence


  • Address and resolve customer complaints, inquiries, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the theater to engage with guests and ensure a positive experience. Display a clean and neat appearance and pleasant attitude.
  • Work with the team to consistently deliver high-quality service, uphold cleanliness standards, and optimize the moviegoing experience.
  • Shift hours may vary including evenings, weekends, and college closure periods.

Facility Maintenance & Safety


  • Participate and oversee the cleanliness and functionality of all theater areas, including lobbies, restrooms, auditoriums, and concession stands.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff from Central College or external contractors for repairs and upkeep of theater equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security policies, including emergency procedures and incident reporting.


Requirements:


  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in basic math and cash handling procedures.
  • Available and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as these are peak times for cinema operations.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business demands and handle unexpected challenges.
