ResponsibilitiesThis position serves as the Chemistry and Biochemistry Stockroom Manager, overseeing all day to day functions of the stockroom.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Supervising, managing, hiring, evaluating, and training stockroom personnel.
- Overseeing all Stockroom and departmental receiving transactions.
- Providing day-to-day guidance and coordination of activities to ensure delivery of Stockroom services.
- Filling in for Campus Services Specialist to ensure appropriate coverage at all times for Stockroom.
- Developing and implementing internal operating policies and procedures governing the receiving and pick-up of merchandise for the department.
- Coordinating with administrative staff regarding the auxiliary billing for the stockroom which serves all campus users needing to purchase ethanol, dry ice, and liquid nitrogen.
- Monitoring billing and pricing models of Stockroom inventory to perform analysis and make updates to pricing as needed.
- Serving as Property Custodian for the department of Chemistry & Biochemistry.
- Ensuring that computerized analysis and reconciliation of both stockroom inventory and department capital inventory are entered correctly; compiling and submitting required inventory reports to Chair.
- Calculating usage rate of liquid nitrogen, "tap fees", and dewar fills, and coordinating with departmental fiscal staff to ensure accurate billing on a bi-monthly basis.
- Annually working with fiscal staff to determine profit/loss rate methodology and whether adjustments need to be made for the auxiliary to remain successful.
- Serving as emergency contact for Stockroom - This position is designated as Critical Personnel during university closures.
- Advising the Chair on and is responsible for overseeing and/or providing deliverables to the FSU community during emergency situations such as creation, distribution, and billing of dry ice. This includes ensuring sufficient supplies of bulk liquid is maintained to make the end product as well as sufficient understanding of the technical concepts involved in deliverables (e.g., sublimation of dry ice resulting in less volume as time goes on).
- Overseeing and training all personnel and back up personnel on all liquid nitrogen and dry ice safety and procedures.
- Overseeing maintenance of ethanol ordering log to ensure federal license limit is not exceeded.
Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to four years. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)

An individual who is detail oriented, able to prioritize and multitask, use problem solving skills, has knowledge of the process of inventory management, and has basic computer function knowledge.

Anticipated starting salary for the position will be in the mid-to-high $40,000’s, starting salary will be offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.
