About You


The Director, Social Care and Health (SCH) will drive strategic leadership within this industry cluster, one of 5 clusters within the College of VE.


Leading the delivery of both VE and HE programs, this senior role is accountable the delivery of 30 programs in Social Care and Health disciplines to over 3,000 students, with 120 staff. This vital position ensures accountability for quality, inspires innovation, and fosters deep connections and collaboration across a diverse range of programs and delivery methods including Nursing & Dental, Aged Care & Disability, Community Services, Allied Health and Applied Sciences.


The incumbent will chart the course for the industry cluster, actively pursuing market opportunities and devising effective solutions that not only meet but exceed the expectations of industry and community partners, along with government and external funding bodies.


In addition, the Director will deliver outstanding leadership to the staff team, cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement that empowers the team to thrive, reach ambitious goals, and achieve lasting success.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:



  • Educational leadership experience related to leading HE and HE program teams, including, external accreditation requirements relating to the SCH programs.

  • The ability to develop a strong culture that supports and encourages creativity and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in strategic and tactical leadership.

  • High level of interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.

  • Strong understanding of university systems relating to budget management, quality maintenance and good governance.

  • Understanding of the issues and concepts employed in strategic planning and financial management and continuous improvement and in the design, development and delivery of vocational education and training.

  • Proven leadership and influencing skills, including the capacity to initiate, lead and manage projects as well as organisational change programs that will contribute to improved programs.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the educational requirements, issues and policies (internal and external) affecting Vocational Education and Higher Education.

  • Knowledge and understanding of program accreditation requirements, including Australian Dental Council (ADC), Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).


Qualifications


Relevant qualifications and proven expertise in the leadership of large-scale operational teams in a commercial or educational environment, and relevant industry experience.
