Job Duties:
Responsibilities:
-Facilitate the instructional plans of the classroom teacher and school to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total community school program.
- Implement the planned innovative strategies and integration of a variety of support services for students.
- Implement behavioral and social-emotional strategies to foster a positive climate for learning.
- Receive visitors within the assigned classroom for the purpose of instruction, assistance, research, and observation.

This position is contingent upon available funding.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in elementary education (K-6); excellent oral and written communication skills; and evidence of skill in working with at risk student populations. Qualifying degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation:
None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Bachelor’s degree with a current or past professional North Carolina teaching license in elementary education (K-6) preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience with various student groups. Demonstrated experience performing in a self-directed capacity; organized with attention to detail; innovation and outcome oriented; technologically proficient across multiple platforms; possess strong interpersonal relationship skills including collaboration with various individuals; highly motivated and be willing to be receptive to innovative practices/procedures; willing to take the initiative to learn the duties/responsibilities/expectations of the work and operations of the community school; and willing to work alone or as a group/team when necessary.
