Our Business Analytics team is seeking an IT Training Specialist, Lead who is responsible for planning, developing, evaluating and leading the department's training curriculum. The IT Training Specialist, Lead demonstrates exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, approaches work with a “can-do” or “team player” attitude, and provides helpful, courteous, responsive and knowledgeable training services. The IT Training Specialist, Lead ensures stakeholders are skilled in using GSU’s enterprise-wide reporting applications to interpret data to uncover insights, patterns and trends that inform better decision-making.
The IT Training Specialist, Lead position works closely with the technical team(s) for producing the necessary materials, such as user guides, presentations, video content (audio/video scripts), tip sheets, online eLearning, WebEx, course invitations and other media. The duties of the position require working with attention to detail and accuracy, excellent verbal written English language communication, presentation and teaching skills.
This successful candidate will provide helpful, courteous, responsive, knowledgeable training services, and have demonstrated experience in effective instructional techniques; the successful candidate is familiar with data analytics and operational reporting platforms and a proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and part of a team. The successful candidate will have a keen interest and ability to articulate and interpret functional aspects of institutional effectiveness.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Develop and implement engaging, effective, and innovative training curriculums in different modalities: group training, in-person settings, online, ad-hoc/role-based (intermediate and advance curriculums)
· In partnership with manager/colleagues, develop and maintain training content (course invitations, outlines, manuals, presentations, quick start guides, videos, frequently asked questions, etc.) to ensure relevance and timeliness based on directives and current reporting solutions
· Conduct and evaluate the effectiveness of training and course content: designing surveys and evaluating students' progress and effectiveness of training modules and learning outcomes
· Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams to evaluate and test system upgrades and application functionality
· Troubleshoot and provide end-user support related to report inquiries and resolution guidelines
· Create digital communication to stakeholders and update unit's website with critical announcements
· Promote and update the training calendar to reflect the training schedule; correspond with registered participants to ensure successful delivery: implement, disseminate, and archive training materials
· Verify users’ access levels and perform administrative tasks
· Provide helpful, courteous, responsive and knowledgeable service and training
· Remain abreast of new educational techniques and technology and incorporate into current training
· Able to discuss core business functionality and other use cases for interacting with enterprise-wide applications and domain knowledge of institutional effectiveness
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
· Experience in IT technical training or with computers, technology, IT applications/systems, and/or end-user client support.
· Demonstrated experience designing and implementing visible and innovative training curriculums.
· Expertise in designing learning modules
· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications
· Subject Matter Expert in the use of Google Slides, Prezi, PowerPoint, Canva, MS Teams, Camtasia, Articulate 360/Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Qualtrics, screen capture technologies or other course creation platforms
· Exposure to graphic/visual design tools – Adobe Photoshop or similar software
· Excellent verbal and written English language communication, presentation, and teaching skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
· Comfortable with public speaking and possessing demonstrated experience of being an open and effective communicator
· Ability to learn quickly and flexibility in changing directions and priorities; ability to adapt to changing organizational processes; demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet or exceed assigned deadlines with minimal rework
· Strong interpersonal skills: ability to inspire and motivate learners
· Domain knowledge of Institutional Effectiveness
· Experience working with technology in higher education or similar complex environment
· Familiarity with Ellucian Banner Enterprise Resource System
· Knowledge of business intelligence tools and emerging training trends
· Exposure to database systems or SQL language
· Curriculum development
· Experience in business process analysis for enterprise systems and a passion for driving positive change

Founded in 1913 in Atlanta, Georgia State University is the second-largest and one of four research institutions in the University System of Georgia.
