The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking to hire an experienced Research Assistant to provide support to the Psychology Department.

    The ideal candidate will support the study of investigating adolescent brain development, social health, and social development, using advanced neuroimaging analysis methods. This role will also recruit local families, conduct data collection, and assist with lab-related administration.

    The essential duties and responsibilities are the following:

  • Assist with family recruitment, schedule participants and conduct lab visits with adolescent families.
  • Provide support and assist in the creating and programming of stimuli; assist with reports, manuscript preparation, and conference presentations.
  • Assist with fMRI, behavioral, survey data collection and organization.
  • Assist with daily lab operations that include tracking lab supplies and equipment.
  • May assist with website, social media and newsletter content.
  • Aid with outreach events as needed; maintain and update participants’ database.
  • Support and assist with managing volunteer undergraduate Research Assistants. 
  •  



    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree, or a high school diploma or GED, and four years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience. 

    Preferred Hirining Requirements:

    •  Experience in Python/R/SPSS
    • Experience in lab-related administration
    • Experience in data collection with families

    Georgia State’s main campus is located on 34 acres in downtown Atlanta. University centers in Alpharetta, Brookhaven, Buckhead and Henry County offer students convenient suburban locations for graduate courses in business and education.

    More than 50,000 students annually attend Georgia State University. While 90 percent of the students are from Georgia, students also come from all 50 states and 160 countries.
