About the Role
The Director of Business Education plays a critical role in designing, developing, and overseeing all aspects of the EMBA and Executive Education programs at the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM), Fulbright University Vietnam. The Director will also provide guidance and support to the undergraduate Business, Policy, and Society major and minor.  The successful candidate will contribute to the university’s mission of providing a top-class business education to students from Vietnam and beyond.

 

Job scope
The Director of Business Education will spearhead the development and operational management of an innovative and competitive Executive MBA (EMBA) program at the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management, and contribute to the development of undergraduate business-related programs. This position is integral to ensuring the programs meet enrollment KPIs, deliver superior student experience, and actively engage with the business community and international partners. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for revenue generation from the Executive Education programs in FSPPM, driving sustainability and growth, ensuring alignment with the school’s strategic goals.

Solid reports to: Dean of Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM)
Dotted-line reports to: Dean of Undergraduate Studies

-    Faculty members of EMBA program
-    Executive Education Manager 

 

Roles and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Business Education includes but is not limited to:
1.    Business Program Leadership:
•    Develop and implement a strategic plan for the EMBA program aligned with Fulbright’s mission and vision.
•    Coordinate with Academic affairs & admissions team to develop and implement effective student recruitment and admissions strategies to support enrolment goals.
•    Monitor admissions goals and recruiting targets for each program and establish priorities and tactics to achieve goals.
•    Lead the process of curriculum development, ensuring it meets industry standards and the evolving needs of the market.
•    Lead the efforts of recruiting faculty members for the business and Executive Education programs.
•    Involve in teaching at least two courses in the business education program such as Business Strategy, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management…
•    Contribute to teaching and curriculum development for Undergraduate programs in business. 
•    Enhance the student experience through innovative experiential learning opportunities, including case studies, internships, workshops, and international study programs.
•    Foster a strong sense of community and belonging among students, alumni, and faculty to enrich the overall educational experience.
•    Manage the EMBA program’s budget and resources effectively.

2.    Executive Education Development:
•    Lead the development and implementation of FSPPM’s executive education programs and related initiatives to generate revenue.
•    Collaborate with the Vice President for Operations and Development to develop partnerships with external organizations to enhance program offerings.
•    Oversee the design and delivery of FSPPM’s executive education programs.
•    Monitor industry trends and best practices in education to ensure the FSPPM’s executive education program remains competitive. 
•    Coordinate with the broader university executive program (cross sales, CRM, partnership development)

3.    Team Management and Collaboration:
•    Provide guidance and support to the business, policy, and society major and minor in the undergraduate program, ensuring the synergy of business education between the graduate and undergraduate programs.
•    Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to achieve program goals.
•    Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Other duties:
Contributing to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the department; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed; teaching in the EMBA and undergraduate programs; and perform other duties as assigned.

 

What we look for
•    Education:  PhD degree or relevant advance degree is preferred
•    Experience
o    Experience (typically 10+ years) in higher education management, program development, and corporate training. Experience in MBA/EMBA program management is a plus.
o    Experience in curriculum development and innovative educational practices, including active learning and experiential learning methodologies.
o    Strong teaching experience at the graduate level in business administration or related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of experience as an instructor.
o    Deep understanding of the business landscape in Vietnam and a robust network within academia and industry.
o    Experience interacting with corporate managers and executives strategically about partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
•    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including students, faculty, and industry leaders.
o    Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
o    Strong leadership and management skills.
o    Good command at budget management and financial planning.
o    Proficiency in English is required. Knowing Vietnamese is a plus.
