Care Support Services compassionately assists and empowers students in managing interpersonal, academic, and wellness concerns by offering advocacy and connection to resources. Care Support Services provides non-clinical case management to approximately 150 students each school year. The Assistant Director would manage an individual caseload with the ability to develop supportive programming to complement Case Management Plans.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Care Support Services is critical to managing the University’s care reporting system. Care Concerns range in severity and urgency, with Care Support Services being the primary responder to those highest-level reports. Reporting to the Director of Care Support Services, this position is responsible for triaging all care concerns to professional staff members, allowing undergraduate and graduate populations to receive needed support. Additionally, the Assistant Director monitors all staff assigned cases, while also responding to their own caseload of concerns. The Assistant Director will also manage staff access, training, and updates to certain shared technology systems for the Student Success Thematic Area.

Conditions of Employment:

This is a restricted position, subject to the availability of funding.

This position requires the ability to work occasional hours beyond the typical work week, including night and weekend work as needed to meet the business needs of the operation.

This position is required to participate in an on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in higher education, counseling, social work, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and or experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational and exceptional professional customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication including interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining collaborative, effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technical applications including Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in assessment.
  • Experience obtaining external funding, including writing grants.
  • Experience working with student information databases or similar data analysis software.
  • Experience working within a university setting.
  • Knowledge of current trends and issues related to the field of Care Support Services/Student Affairs.

Advertised Pay Range:

Up to $50,000, commensurate with experience.
