Educational and Experience Requirement:

Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree and two years of research, teaching, or experience in a biomedical science field such as neuroscience, neuropsychology, epidemiology, environmental health, and/or biostatistics. Preference will be given to the candidates who have a combination of education, experience, and training in one or more of the biomedical science disciplines mentioned above and experience in global health research that would produce the required knowledge and abilities. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), performs specific duties pertaining to research activities, special projects, and/or educational programs. This is advanced professional work which may require the development of new or improved techniques and procedures with latitude for independent action and decision.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs research and administrative activities for a NIH-funded study, an area of considerable scope and complexity under the supervision of the PI. Prepares research results for publication reports, papers, journals, and books. Performs data and statistical analyses. Prepares annual reports for NIH, seminar presentations, talks or lectures for dissemination of knowledge, particularly the results of research undertaken. Oversees field work, collections, and research. Works in collaboration with the PI on grant proposal development in areas relevant to the ongoing NIH-funded study. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Should be qualified to perform independent research activities and to supervise other research personnel. The nature of duties are such that they require knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning, are predominantly intellectual and varied in character, and require consistent exercise of discretion and judgment. May require contacts with faculty, staff, other university departments, state and federal agencies, other researchers, and outside vendors. Attention and care is required in the performance of duties to prevent injury to self or others.

Primary responsibility is to work on a NIH-funded R01 project. This is a position that requires on campus activities 5 days a week.

This is a temporary, full-time, benefits eligible, grant funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding. Funding expected to end on or before 11/30/2025.
