Unit Mission Statement:It is the mission of the Student Health Center to ensure the highest quality health care. Through education and training, we endeavor to promote health and healthy lifestyles and to prevent disease so that students may achieve a satisfying and successful college experience.
Position Summary:To provide appropriate assessment and treatment of medical and/or acute mental health problems in the student population under the direction of a health care provider.
Conditions of Employment:- This position is expected to work between 8-24 hours per week during the Aug – May academic year. Additional hours may be available in June and July.
- Hours are based on the Student Health Center (SHC) needs.
- All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve-month period beginning May 1 each year.
- This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
- This is a restricted position, subject to the continued availability of funding.

Required Qualifications:- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited U.S. nursing program with an RN license in good standing with the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic CPR certification.
- Knowledge of clinical methods and related nursing protocols/skills.
- Experience in the administration of allergy and immunization injections.
- Clinical experience in a related medical/clinical setting.
