Job Summary:

The Program Manager, will assist the Director of Small Business Development Center in all phases of office management for the SBDC as well as assist in the client in-take process and consulting. The Program Manager, will plan, organize, perform a wide variety of activities to help promote and market the SBDC. The Program Manager, may also supervise other SBDC staff, student workers, programs, and processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited two-year college or university with a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or knowledge of more than one professional discipline.

  1. Excellent experience in program development and planning, office administration and management.
  2. Advanced computer skills in word processing, photocomposition, spreadsheet, graphics, and data management.
  3. Generate and review program expenditures and ensure adherence to budget.
  4. Advanced organizational skills.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Process complex information to support accurate decision making and problem solving.
  7. Collaborate with other consultants and personnel within the SBDC network.
  8. Detailed knowledge of a specialized or technical field; work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents.
This position requires light physical effort. requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds, or some standing and walking. May occasionally require some stooping or bending.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Experience updating social media platforms.
Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook.

SALARY :

Minimum salary - $41,304.00

40 hours per week

Essential Job Functions:

Respond to clients and potential clients inquiries via phone, e-mail or in person and acts as a resource for business and SBDC services related information.

Maintain accurate, consistent and complete client records about consulting sessions using a client management system.

Develop systems for tracking and reporting statistical information.

Maintain liaison between SBDC and Houston SBDC Lead Center regarding reporting, office procedures, etc.

Prepare monthly reports about counseling, training, program income and activities for the Houston SBDC; design and compose SBDC monthly newsletter.

Maintain accurate records of time, expenses, and mileage; process F3.2 and other forms for hiring staff and making payroll adjustments. Help to maintain and reconcile SBDC financial records/reports.

Work with SBDC Program Director to develop seminars, workshops, and special projects; develop handouts and visual aids for seminars and coordinate the promotion of seminars and programs with media; serve as SBDC host for seminars and programs as needed.

Lamar State College - Port Arthur, a member of The Texas State University System, is an open-access, comprehensive public two-year college offering quality and affordable instruction leading to associate degrees and a variety of certificates.
