Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in elevating Room Operation experiences.

  • Assist in identified and newly developed touchpoints from personal research after initial booking & relationship building.

  • As assigned, they will be the primary contact for VIPs and their coordinators for upcoming and current guests at Graylyn.

  • Participate in and deliver Graylyn Butler tours and presentations for estate and corporate guests.

  • Prepare for the planned execution of special leisure guest packages.

  • Responsible for house flower arrangements in main public spaces and during special annual events as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Participate in an organization-wide effort to ensure the presentation of spaces meets Mrs. Gray's standards.

  • Efficiently develops an extensive knowledge of Graylyn facilities and relevant historical facts.

  • Maintains the highest level of guest relations.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED and one-year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities.

  • Ability to maintain effective customer relations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, the Internet, and other relevant software.

  • Knowledge of campus history and guest room features (training available).

  • Knowledge of Winston-Salem city roads, directions, and surrounding areas.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to meet the requirements of the University's automobile insurance policy.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Hospitality experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally/or, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

  • Physical activities include stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing.

  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.

Environmental Conditions:

  • The worker will be subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur both inside and outside.

  • 90% of working hours will be standing or walking.
