Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking applicants with diverse skills and experiences to join our innovative and inclusive community. You will join as a Student Systems Developer III where you will drive application development on the Peoplesoft Campus Solutions system. You will participate in strategic and operational projects to support and improve the Student Systems application landscape and processes.

As part of the IS&T Student Systems Application Development team, you will report to the Associate Director of Applications Development. The position is part of a hybrid team but fully remote will be considered.

You Will:
  • Participate in Student Systems strategic projects as a developer, lead developer, technical lead, subject matter expert, release engineer or other technical project role.
  • Define, document, estimate, develop, and unit test Peoplesoft student systems customizations, extensions, and integrations in alignment with overall solution architecture and client requirements.
  • Provide Operational Support and work on Operational Projects. Triage, troubleshoot, and respond to incidents and service requests. Collaborate with clients and team members to implement prioritized Enhancements and Defects.
  • Follow Boston University's Software Development Lifecycle and Service Management structure. Adapt ITIL leading practices and ensure compliance with defined process steps and controls (e.g. release management, change management, and related workflow).
  • Assist peers, functional leads/testers, and other project members throughout the project lifecycle including design, unit test, integration testing, training, and general implementation of Student Systems projects.
  • Participate in process improvements within the Applications Development team.
  • Coach other developers provide guidance and feedback. Advising more junior staff in the completion of their work and reviewing outputs.

Required Skills

You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or comparable experience.
  • 5+ years of applicable experience.
  • Proficient competency in Peoplesoft and Peoplesoft development tools, (e.g. Peoplesoft Campus Solutions, SQL, SQR, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, PeopleSoft Application Designer, Integration Broker and messaging).
