Teacher Assistants work in one or more Community Learning Centers (CLC) with Wood County Educational Service Center (WCESC). Teacher Assistants interact with Students, follow directions and complete tasks provided by the Lead Teacher, and help foster a safe and supportive environment for learning. Students supported are often in Grades K-5, with option for Grades 6-12, if preferred and appropriate. CLC site options include Rossford, Northwood, Eastwood, Bowling Green, North Baltimore.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Help provide a safe and supportive environment for learning
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confidentiality and dependability are critical for this role
• Ability to lift 15-20 pounds occasionally
Essential Functions:
• Assist the Lead Teachers with preparing supplies and implementing daily lessons in the classroom, lunch room, and recess spaces.
• Assist in maintaining a quality learning environment
• Operate basic office equipment (copier, paper cutter, hole puncher, etc.)
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Able to meet deadlines
Minimum Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Computer Skills
• Able to pass background checks
• Provide their own personal transportation
Related details for the position:
• If selected to hire, WCESC and Ohio Department of Education require the standard Employee Medical Statement, which will be the financial responsibility of the Student Employee (personal insurance may cover it).
• $10.45 hourly wage, paid every other week via direct deposit.
• 10-24 working hours per week, with flexibility around class schedule.
• If hired for this role, training courses will require 5 to 10 hours total (paid), such as First Aid, CPR, and others related to child safety and development.
