Description:Reporting to the Program Manager for the Mentoring in Medicine/NYS-DOH grant, the Part-Time Assistant Program Coordinator will contribute to the implementation of the Mentoring in Medicine/NYS-DOH grant by handling administrative tasks, coordinating programs, and supporting program development and evaluation. This position is grant funded with an end date of April 30, 2025.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains accurate records of mentor-mentee matches, meeting schedules, progress reports, and other program documentation.
- Prepares reports on program progress, outcomes, and challenges to program partners.
- Assists in the matching process of mentors and mentees based on goals, skills, and interests.
- Serves as a point of contact for mentors and mentees, answering their concerns promptly.
- Collects feedback from participants to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Plays a role in developing and delivering training programs for mentors and mentees.
- Creates and disseminates guides to support mentors and mentees.
- Monitors the progress of mentor-mentee relationships and evaluates their outcomes with program goals and objectives.
- Supports in the recruitment of new mentors and mentees through outreach activities.
- Actively involves family members in programs by fostering meaningful connections, encouraging participation, and addressing their specific needs to enhance engagement and program outcomes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1 -3 years related experience.
- Excellent communication and management skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills as well as a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting young, diverse students.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Graduate level student from the School of Human Services at Hofstra University preferred.
