The Slone Epidemiology Center, a multi-disciplinary research group at BUMC, is seeking a Database Developer to join a collaborative team of researchers. The Database Developer will have the opportunity to participate in exciting research for multiple programs, working with a tight-knit, dedicated, friendly group of colleagues. The mission of this position is to provide full IS&T support for research study teams who are engaged in the recruitment and tracking of study participants and the capture, processing, quality control, and analysis of research data. Responsibilities include designing database architectures and assisting research teams in defining the information processing requirements; developing, implementing, and supporting back-end databases and front-end user interfaces including web-based interfaces and other data collection modalities; creating and maintaining full documentation of developed databases and applications; and facilitating the extraction of data from databases for the creation of analytic datasets for investigators.

Required Skills
  • Education/experience: Bachelors degree in computer sciences, software engineering, or related field and 3+ years of directly related experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access VBA.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective communication with investigators, epidemiologists, statisticians, and data analysts.
