Salary: $77,000 to $130,000 Annually (salary commensurate with education and experience)
General Statement of Duties:
The Department of Management & Marketing at Westfield State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Management at the Assistant/Associate Professor level beginning Fall 2025. The Department is looking for a faculty member with expertise in Sports Management.
The ideal candidate will have sports industry experience in addition to a graduate degree in sports management or a closely related field. The Department seeks an energetic and dedicated educator who can inspire and engage undergraduate students while contributing to the department's research initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
- Teaching load is 24 credits each year, typically 12 credits each semester.
- Provide excellence in teaching across different modalities including face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes.
- In addition to the development and teaching of undergraduate courses, engage in scholarly activity, which can take many different forms.
- Provide academic advising and other support to students; opportunities to advise student research are available and encouraged.
- Offer service to the department, university, and community.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution (ABD candidates will be considered but must have completed the degree by the time of appointment).
- Relevant industry experience as well as the ability to develop linkages with the business community.
- A demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and student engagement.
- Evidence of an active and productive research agenda, with a record of or potential for publications and presentations in respected outlets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in online teaching and familiarity with educational technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Business/Data Analytics, Sports Marketing, Sports Law, and/or Event Management.

Salary:
Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies. State job specifications may be found on the Department of Higher Education's webpage.
