Educational and Experience Requirement:High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. Associates degree in related field preferred. Two years of relevant clerical experience or experience in a related field. Experience with electronic medical records and insurance verification preferred. Proficiency in communicating in Spanish strongly preferred. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Position located in Conroe, Texas.
Performs complex clerical duties and specialist services for the Sam Houston State University Physicians Clinic.
Primary Responsibilities:Performs complex clerical functions to include data and document processing and provides general customer service. Answers correspondence and types letters, memorandums, reports, and other materials. Performs data entry, verifies data and files, and maintains files. Performs receptionist duties, directs phones and walk-in customers, and schedules appointments. Runs standard reports. Solves routine problems to complete tasks of a repetitive nature. Receives and distributes mail. Assembles and organizes materials. Performs other related duties as assigned. Performs specialist duties. Maintain patient and staff confidentiality according to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors programs or services. Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Coordinates and schedules appointments and activities. Interprets policies and procedures. Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports. Attends meetings. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes reports, documents, and correspondence. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Requires basic knowledge of general clerical functions. May require the ability to perform word processing. Requires accuracy in finding files, entering facts or figures, and operating of office equipment.
Maintains contacts with personnel. Requires general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires good knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature.
Position located in Conroe, Texas.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
