Job Summary:

The electrician performs moderately complex maintenance and repair work in several building construction trades. Work involves maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, stationary equipment, telecommunication infrastructure and facility monitoring and alarm systems.
The position requires proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, electrical metering and test equipment and the ability to maintain records of labor and materials expended on projects.

The electrician must follow oral and written instructions; maintain good working relationships with other employees and building occupants; and perform moderately heavy physical work which may involve long hours of work while standing.

Must be honest, cooperative and reliable.

The Electrician reports directly to the Director of the Physical Plant.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience is preferred.
Minimum of four years’ experience on jobs leading to this, or similar jobs.
Current electrical license.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Knowledge of basic HVAC and electrical construction knowledge,basic carpentry skills and workplace hazards and safety rules and regulations.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires constant sitting, walking, seeing, and stooping and bending. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects that weigh up to 50 lbs. SALARY :

$48,000 - $58,000

Work Hours:

40 hours per week

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain and repair work on electrical, heating, air conditioning, fire/intrusion alarm, mechanical and plumbing systems.

Essential Job Functions:

Inspect electrical generators, electrical switchgear, HVAC equipment, operating machinery, appliances, fire alarm and intrusion alarm systems, and elevators to ensure proper maintenance and repair.

Install electrical receptacles, switches, light fixtures, and wiring for telecommunications/data.

Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems and responds to corrective maintenance work orders.
