Office and Position Overview Hudson County Community College (HCCC) is seeking its inaugural Director for the Hudson Hub One Stop Student Services Center (Hudson Hub), which is scheduled to open in Fall 2026. Beginning immediately, the Director will be responsible for overseeing the training and transition of existing staff, and assisting with the hiring and onboarding of any additional staff members needed for the team.The Director will be responsible for the preparation, planning, and execution of a fully functional One Stop Student Services Center. This role is pivotal in providing integrated support to a diverse student population, ensuring seamless access to essential services such as Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Registrar, Continuing Education, and Workforce Development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in student services, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to enhancing the student experience. The Director provides daily leadership and support to the Hudson Hub, including staffing, student service, and streamlined processing for all student-facing functions (Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Registrar, Continuing Education and Workforce Development).
Summary of DutiesPosition Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:Oversee the daily operations of the Hudson Hub, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Student Services Assistants and Assistant Directors who provide the following services: Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Registrar, Continuing Education, and Workforce Development.Identify and deliver professional development for Hudson Hub staff.Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the Hudson Hub in alignment with the college’s mission, vision, and values.Student Support:Enhance the student experience by providing comprehensive and accessible support services, addressing student needs and concerns in a timely manner.Promote a student-centered approach to service delivery, ensuring that all interactions are supportive, respectful, and solutions oriented.Continuously assess, evaluate, and improve upon the student experience.Program Development and Improvement:Evaluate and refine existing services and processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and student satisfaction.Design and implement new programs and initiatives to address emerging student needs and trends in higher education.Collaboration and Communication:Foster strong working relationships with academic departments, faculty, and other campus units to ensure a cohesive approach to student services.Collaborate closely with functional leaders to ensure Hudson Hub staff is well-trained at all times. Serve as a key liaison between students and the college administration, advocating student needs and concerns.Participate in college committees.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure that all services and operations comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies.Prepare and present reports on performance, student outcomes, and service utilization to administration and other stakeholders.Budget and Resource Management:Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.Identify and pursue opportunities for additional funding and resource development to support initiatives.Other Duties as Assigned QualificationsRequirementsEducation: Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive experience in student services, including at least three years in a leadership role managing multiple functional areas.Skills:Proven leadership and team management capabilities.Strong understanding of student services functions, including Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Registration and Continuing Education.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with professionalism.Experience with data analysis and reporting, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and improvements.Superior customer service, communication, and collaboration skills.
