Senior Instructional Designer
Position SummaryThe Instructional Technology and Development Team perform their roles through service requests, resource creation and curation, researching emerging tools and practices, develop and deliver workshops and presentations and collaboration with other departments on projects and activities. This role combines online digital media with traditional classroom methods and technologies and requires a delicate balance to ensure participants receive a high-quality education. This team reports to the Instructional Technology and Development Team Manager, who reports to the Assistant Director of Educational Technology.
Instructional Technology and Development Team will primarily perform the following duties:
- Develop and maintain training materials for, classes, workshops and webinars
- Consult with faculty about the design, development and implementation of their courses.
- Provide formative feedback to instructors on their developing courses and review established courses for quality using a QM rubric.
- Work across teams to implement new technology and maintain existing systems
- Review and research proposed additions to our supported technology portfolio and make recommendations for implementation
- Update course templates to meet instructor needs.

Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired QualificationsMasters in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design (ID), Digital Media, or related fields.
3+ yrs experience in D2L Brightspace administration and technical support and highly knowledgeable on D2L Data Sets.
3+ yrs experience with faculty training, including workshops design, facilitations, and consultations.
3+ yrs experience with Instructional Design, UX Design, Digital Media, HTML, CSS, Java Script or equivalent experience as an ID
3+ yrs experience working with Accessibility and WCAG 2.
3+ yrs experience addressing EdTech issues related to web design, course design, multimedia content, and digital learning materials.
3+ yrs experience in project management
2+ yrs experience establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors.
2+ yrs experience with mentoring and training new employees on key system and practices.
