Dental assistant provides support by assisting the dentist in various dental procedures, exposing radiographs, taking impressions, fabrication and cementing temporary crowns, ensuring optimal patient comfort, sterilizing instruments, practicing infection control and OSHA standards in the operatory prior, during and after procedures. Ensures assigned operatories are cleaned and disinfected. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: - collect patients data by reviewing medical history, taking blood pressure and charting clinical findings as directed by dentist. - contact patients as needed and reviews schedules for optimal utilization - reviews and enters treatment plans - organizes lab by monitoring completion dates - ensures each assigned operatory is set-up and ready prior seeing each patient - provides patient education by giving pre and post-operative instructions including oral hygiene instructions - may be responsible for ordering supplies if needed
Required Skills
Dental Assistant, digital radiography, electronic charting and records, use of digital technology preferred.
Vocational Training required and 1-3 years of experience.
