Data Collector, Department of Psychology - Georgetown University College of Arts & Sciences

Requirements

The Data Collector supports research in the Department of Psychology within Georgetown University. The person in this position will collect data pre and and post the Connect to Baby intervention. Data collection is remotely collected via zoom. The data collector will collect data in both English and Spanish following IRB approved materials starting with the informed consent process and then following the data collection protocol. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Contact participants and schedule appointments.
  • Conduct Zoom data collection sessions via Zoom, following a protocol in both English and Spanish.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss on going data collection.
  • Code the parent-child interactions collected during the data collection period.


Work Interactions

The data collection by the data collector for the Connect to Baby program is essential for the implementation of the NIH R21 funded Connect to Baby intervention. The data collector will interact directly with the program coordinator who will assign families for data collection to the data collector, to the rest of the intervention implementation team which consists of data collectors, program facilitators and clinical supervisor and PIs. The new employee would be very closely supervised by Rachel Barr (PI) and Rebecca Ryan (PI) and the Project Manager. The position will work directly with other data collectors and the project manager for this project.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree
  • Due to the DC metropolitan area's growing Spanish speaking population and the fact that data are collected in the home and that the study examines parents' talk with each other and children, Spanish speaking skills preferred
  • Observational coding experience using datayvu software and excel preferred
  • Familiarity with STATA or other statistical software such a R preferred
  • Current driver's license preferred
  • Prior research experience collecting data and/or interacting with people

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
