Job SummaryThe University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Endpoint Software Administrator on the Gainesville campus. The Endpoint Software Administrator is responsible for managing the inventory, maintenance, packaging, deployment, and quality assurance of endpoint software systems within the UNG computing environment. This role collaborates closely with Technical Support Services, Endpoint Engineering, and other IT units to maintain an accurate inventory and ensure software packages are secure and up to date. Additionally, the role supports the asset manager in keeping an up-to-date record of all software assets in use. Travel between campuses is required, along with occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work. A cell phone is necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Receives, packages, maintains, and releases software packages across UNG-owned endpoint systems. Ensures appropriating licensing and configurations are configured within software packages. Follows patch processes to ensure software security issues are addressed consistent with risk. Provides troubleshooting and consultation on complex software installations.
- Maintains and utilizes Intune and other software repositories to maintain an enterprise-wide software catalog and view of software and compliance. Manage software inventory and review requests for new software for the enterprise.
- Manage and maintain Endpoint Privilege Management system.
- Commits after-hours maintenance and communicates updates to software and operating systems changes. Participates in value streams related to endpoint software.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Basic knowledge or hands-on experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., Microsoft Endpoint Manager/SCCM, Intune, or JAMF) desired.
- Familiarity with Windows and macOS environments (basic Linux knowledge is beneficial but not required).
- Advanced knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems.
- Knowledge of mobile devices, MDM solutions.
- Working level knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM best practices.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem ownership skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage workload.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, via Microsoft Teams, and over the telephone.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Associate degree required; Computer Science or Computer Information Systems degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in IT support, help desk, or related technical role required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ITIL certification preferred.
- Relevant Apple and Microsoft certifications preferred.
- The minimum starting salary is $63,303/annually.
