Job SummaryThe University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Social Media Student Ambassador - Institutional Student Worker on the Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses to support the Campus Recreation and Wellness (CRW) department in promoting its programs, services, and events. This role provides a unique opportunity to showcase a diverse range of health, wellness, and community engagement initiatives. The Social Media Ambassador will collaborate with professional and student staff to create captivating content that aligns with the department's mission to foster a healthy, active, and connected campus community. The areas in Campus Recreation and Wellness include Facilities, Outdoor Pursuits, Intramural, Sport Clubs, Sport Teams, LiveWell UNG, Group Exercise, and Peer Health Education.
Responsibilities- Content Creation: Capture high-quality photos and videos at CRW events, programs, and facilities to create engaging social media posts.
- Event Coverage: Attend and document CRW events, including those outside of regular office hours and weekends, as needed.
- Travel to requested appearance: Travel to and cover events or appearances as requested, ensuring dynamic coverage of CRW's activities. Travel not to extend past the Dahlonega or Gainesville campuses.
- Work closely with both professional and student staff across various programming areas (e.g., Intramurals, Sport Clubs, Outdoor Pursuits, Group Exercise) to ensure content aligns with department goals and messaging.
- Social Media Management: Coordinate with the Sport Clubs and Teams Coordinator to plan, review, and schedule posts on CRW social media platforms.
- Trend Engagement: Stay current with social media trends, tools, and strategies, recommending innovative ways to increase engagement and reach.
Brand Alignment: Ensure all content adheres to CRW's branding guidelines and reflects the department's values and mission.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Meta Apps, Apple product usage, camera operations, editing skills through CapCut, Canva and Adobe.
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
